Not squirrels or chipmunks,

Not people or bees.

Bird feeders should have another name

If they aren't for birds.

But shoot squirrels!?

Just because they found a tasty treat?

Sunflower seeds

They love

Picking them out,

Shelling them,

Storing them away,

Stuffing cheeks

Cute chubby cheeks.

Shoot them!?

Why?

Birds are variety,

Blue or red,

Humming or swallow.

Squirrels so few,

All boring.

But Bold!

Bird feeders are for the birds.

But shoot at squirrels?

Never.
